Try a local machinist if you cant come up one. In sure it can be duplicated.

I think the route I am going to go is to send it to the gentleman I mentioned above. He said he has them in all sizes and should be able to help me out. I would try the other routes but I have limited use of a vehicle this week and have to get ready for my shoulder surgery on Friday. Still putting away all my turkey hunting supplies and have to go get the blind and calls off the property I hunt tomorrow.
I'm in the same boat. I have a lot of Turkey hunting gear to put away and organize. LOL! I tend to get sloppy toward the middle of the season when I start wearing down and am running out of energy. I like to conserve as much as possible so I'm not too tired to hunt.

Might want to pick up a spare if you can.

I used to have a lot more room but with my GF here I have had to get used to not having as much. I am trying to get some verticle shelving units to put stuff up in my bedroom to keep stuff. I am pretty anal about keeping my stuff in order and keeping stuff for each individual type of hunting in separate areas. Deer and turkey are all I do at this time unless you want to include woodchuck and I use my turkey clothes for that well they are also my deer clothes to be honest, except for my cold weather stuff.
By "Might want to pick up a spare if you can." I am guessing you mean the nipple and if so you know I will, I want 3 to 4 at least.

If the gun is European made and I think it is, I have some spare nipples for my Lyman Greta Plains that I don't shoot any more. A couple are the Hot Shot nipple, and with a no. 11 magnum cap they work great. PM me your address and I can drop one in the mail to try. Just will have to wait until next week to ship it as I am out of town.

Well than you. I will send that now. It is going to be neat getting my GF to pull the trigger on it, I am having surgery on my left shoulder and won't be able to lift it with that hand. I think I will have to get the guy downstairs to do it though. No load of course.

Ouch. Many years ago I had a partially torn knee ligament from a hockey injury. Was waiting for surgery with the knee in an immobilizer, out a bar one night and a scuffle broke out right next to me. After a loud pop and severe pain... had a 100% tear.

Oh man, I have a knee that likes to pop out of socket when I am sitting at the computer sometimes. I had to teach myself to pop it back in place using my belt once out hunting on my own. That was not fun.

Was just doing a quick search and found that model was US made and uses a 1/4-28 thread nipple according to here: https://www.muzzleloadingforum.com/threads/navy-arms-side-hammer-32-cal.72047. Should be easy to find one. I now remember my grandfather had at least one in his gun shop when I was a kid, he was a gunsmith and did a lot of trading.

I thank you for the information but the one thing that concerns me about it is that they are talking about a .36 and .45 Cal. and mine is a .50 Cal. I wonder if that would change things? It also took #11 Caps by the way.

Looks like the .50 is Italian made:
QuoteMy Navy Arms mule ear rifle was also named the Country Boy and was also made in .50 caliber, but that was an Italian Pedersoli model only imported for a short time several years...

Here's the link, originally the thread is talking about an inline they made later with the same name: https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/navy-arms-country-boy-50-cal-any-info.541898/[/img]
.

Will send one I have.

Thank you very much, look forward to shooting it this year again after a VERY long time.

Now do you know where to get a replacement ramrod for a Traditions Panther? They make a very interesting whistling noise as they fly to the target.

I have to get a lot of new stuff to be honest, no clue what happened to everything. I have to get another cap for the ramrod for the first gun as it is missing the side with jag attachment and just a whole new cleaning kit but a lot of that can be done through the summer.
