My biggest was 66 last year, our birds down here lack big time in the weight category. I just hope I can take a few.

those are nice toms in anybody's book
weight obviously is important but each pound only counts 1 point. where scores really go through the roof are with multiple beard birds. total beard length is multiplied by 2 and spur length x 10.
as an example, here's how my best tom added up last year...
11.25 beard x 2 = 22.5 points
1.75 spurs x 2 = 3.5, then x 10 = 35 points
25.5 pounds = 25.5 points
nwft score = 83
i have seen multi-beard birds rack up 50-60 points on beard length alone

If I can just keep killing mature birds I'm happy. Keep doing that all season and you'll end up killing a 70 pt+ tom.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons. However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

That's the way I am I love to kill 4 year old birds. But I promise I will not hold back on a 2 year old. I will shoot a 2 year old faster than you can bat an eye.
