i read this article earlier and it has to be the stupidest article ever. especailly the i got mossy oak on so im invisible who does this guy think hes fooling. if mossy oak made you invisible people would be robbing banks all the time. cant believe they would lie like this http://www.mossyoak.com/our-obsession/blogs/cuzs-corner/2013/02/07/day-4-how-to-successfully-hunt-turkeys-on-public-land-with-mossy-oak-s-tracy-groves.. all my mossy oak clothing is now being used as shop rags
and this one also. talk about false advertisement http://www.mossyoak.com/our-obsession/blogs/prostaff/2013/07/05/with-mossy-oak-we-were-invisible-10-yards-from-a-bull-elk-with-rick-kreuter there is no clothes that will make you invisible plain and simple
Agreed! I always throw my clothes away when I disagree with something on the internet.
Calm down bro it's just an opinion by someone writing an article. Take it for what it's worth
No don't calm down! I think you should turn all your clothes into shop rags.
:you_rock: It's just a article
Wow, talk about taking a line out of context. But please, gather up all your Mossy Oak camo and burn it, just be sure to post it to YouTube for us.
anyone have any suggestions on a good camo brand
I think you kind of missed the point. He's talking about being dressed in camouflage and not being seen as a safety concern on public land. I don't think he's trying to fool anybody by trying to make them think that you truly become "invisible". He trying to make the point of how well he blends in with his surroundings. Step away from the ledge! :toothy12:

thats a waste of money shop rags come in handy
People rob banks everyday in realtree. You never hear about it tho cause they're invisible.
you sure your ok...ya know, mentally?
Well I can somewhat agree with the first article posted (didn't bother with the second). Here's a for instance: Friday morning I was working a couple birds on public ground in NY and I was doing pretty good. Had them closing the gap to around 75 yds. Another hunter came around the bend I'm sure he heard the birds and was putting on a sneak. I'm in head to toe......you guessed it Mossy Oak. I stopped calling and waited for him to get about 30-40 yds then pulled down my face mask and scared the crap out of the guy. After the initial startled look he waved and mosied on in another direction. Now I'm sure it wouldn't have mattered much if it was some other brand but my point is you can become practically invisible in camo. It was open woods between me and the other hunter and had I not made him aware he'd have walked right by or set up next to me for sure.
Both writers of those articles are either sponsored by or work Mossy Oak. What do you expect them to say? They are promoting the product. Nothing more, nothing less. BTW, might want to PM Old Gobbler and ask him to change your name while you're at it. It'd be a shame for your username to be associated with Mossy Oak too.. :TooFunny:
omg.... smh
maybe the lack of sleep is getting to me.

wow just now noticed that. yea i am sleep deprived big time. i guess i better get some sleep and rethink things. probably explains this morning when i fell asleep in the woods this morning and woke wondering how i got there and were i was at luckily i figured out were i was at after a few min just glad i dint get hurt. or hurt anyone i know of. its crazy how lack of sleep messes with your memory.
You wouldn't hurt Mossy Oak by not buying their camo. They got paid when the garment company bought the heat transfer paper to print the material. I know this from personal experience, when you walk in there to get a lic to produce a product the mossy oak guys are like "hey jump in the truck and we'll run down to the café and have lunch first". You walk in Realtree and see what they say.........I wear mossy oak and only purchase Realtree if the item does not come in Mossy Oak, like my scope or snake boots. ....As with most things you gotta sort through the crap in this old world. More important things to fret over...... Hope you have a good season.

Like a lot of guys who have hunted over the years, I've got my stack of old camo that's faded and lost a lot of it's effect but won't ever get thrown away. I counter that by wearing my favorite old stuff but covering it with a leafy cut-out outfit of some sort where the old stuff doesn't show through. Works like a charm!
I have said this once and will say it again. It is a miracle that we ever killed turkeys back before all these different Camo patterns. This is one of those ford vs Chevy discussions.staying still is what is going to do it. We used to wear tie dye and army surplus and killed turkeys. I had four jakes just about step on me the other day in Missouri and I was wearing three different patterns. Those turkeys are looking for other turkeys and not you. If you don't call too much and too loud he might not know exactly where you are. Make him walk around look for you. That will get him killed quicker than fancy camo patterns.
What size are you? You ship to Alabama? :camohat:
I have said this before, and I'll say it again:
"Need" has nothing to do with hunting gear. I can buy meat at the meat store.
Now, "want", that's a different story!
Old School? Funny, since we are all shooting turkeys that came from a cardboard box...

I'm pretty sure my Mossy Oak makes me invisible too. One morning on the way to hunt with my best friend (56 years of turkey hunting experience between us), I stepped off into the edge of the woods to relieve myself then eased back onto the path to wait for him. It was still dark and we had a few hundred yards to get to our set ups. He walked up the path and was standing 4 feet from me, then he called my name in a loud whisper. When I said "Right here." he almost relieved himself where he stood. He asked what pattern and brand of camo I was wearing because he couldn't see me at all. He bought himself some Bottomland later that day.
I also have a magic Mossy Oak hat that I won in a contest. I've only worn it hunting 3 times and killed gobblers each time. Ta-Da!
Jim
I must be doing it wrong then. I need to buy some new camo so that I can ease right up to the roost tree. They won't see me even if I :jackson:
Send me all of your Mossy Oak Camo!
I can put it to good use. He meant invisible figuratively, not literally.
after good nights rest i re read it and i still wont buy from them again. ive heard it was made in china anyways

Probably not a wise investment as it is going to be outlawed soon. Scores of reported hunting accidents due to this camo. Only reason it hasn't already been banned is the inability of authorities to find the bodies. It's also been banned from the military by the Geneva Convention. FYI, it is being used by the government in civilian surveillance and the military in police actions and special forces missions where no declaration of war is in effect.
It may be outlawed, but they can't find the factory where it is made. The first thing they did was cover the factory in Ninja Stealth.

It's tough to find. I had to get mine from a real ninja.
Me thinks Turkey Thug works for Minn Kota ;)
I have been driving Chevys for years. They said built like a rock but mine has broke down a few times. I'm gonna get rid of that thing now that I realize they just lied to me. Rocks don't break down. They have duped me. :funnyturkey:
I was gonna throw all my Mossy Oak away, but it's invisible so I couldn't find it in my closet.
If you want I will send you my address and you can send me all of your mossy oak and i will get rid of it for you. No sense making shop rags out of them you won't be able to find them when you need them
I love mossy oak bottomland camo, its all I hunt in! If I sit still....I am invisible!!!
Just because I was bored.

Not necessarily a cool move. I knew a guy years ago that was shot while sitting on a stump along a road in the timber. Saw a fellow approaching, who he happened to know, and raised his hand to wave at him. Next thing he knew, the guy was drawing down on him. The only thing that saved his life was the fact the shooter was new to turkey hunting, and was shooting field load shells.
I started carrying an orange vest in my pants pocket 25 years or more ago. If I see anyone approaching, I immediately deploy it, and watch to make sure they see me before I let my guard down.

First: I know what I'm doing and I always wear orange while moving on public ground.
Second : The dude had his gun slung over his shoulder with a call in his hands.
Third : If he would have drawn on me I had the drop on him. ;D
