Illinois DNR Shutting Down State Lands

I saw a post on FaceBook stating Illinois is shutting down state lands due the spread of COVID-19. Can anyone confirm?

Looks legit, We have a few weeks before south zone opens and a month for north zone.

Maybe this will be sorted out by then?

Everything is back to normal April 1st as of now. This is getting rediculas. I bet if you showed and a CPO were near,you will be ticketed.

Just checked their FB page and it is going nuts over there...has 474 comments already.

My questions:

Will people who solely hunts, fish, hike, etc. be reimbursed for their permits?
Where are groups like NTWF at in this type of overstepping?
Is this setting up for future removal of hunters/outdoorsman's rights?

Youth season is the only season open in March. It will effect youth hunters on public land only.

That's a shame. In Maryland hunters safety courses are being canceled until further notice. Both my boys were scheduled to attend April 3rd. We will see how this plays out.

I may have missed something, but the post I saw had this:

" Effective immediately, all IDNR-owned properties are closed to the public to help stem the spread of COVID-19. All scheduled events on state property are effectively cancelled; patrons are encouraged to call IDNR's Parks administrative line Monday through Friday at 217-782-6752 with questions."

No dates were associated with the closure notice.  I also googled it and there is no further explanation.

The governor shut down restaurants and schools till the end of March,so you would think until something changes,April 1st.

Our Governer I just heard last night not recommending schools to keep kids home.
Kids just informed me NO SCHOOL possibly for 4 weeks. WTH...

I'm not hunting Illinois this spring....but what is the logic behind this? What are the chances someone being in the woods will spread the virus? Our entire state school system is shut down K-12. That's what these idiots need less schooling lol. This whole entire thing has gone stupid.
