Quote from: larry9988 on June 15, 2018, 01:58:27 PMHave you tried putting a lipstop on your wingbone? Put one on there and adjust it until your get a more consistent sound. If you don't have one, make one. You can make one out of a faucet washer, old style fishing cork or rubber stopper. Also pull your air a little longer if you can. Practice pulling a long consistent note before trying to yelp. A little more lip pressure should also bring your pitch up some.

Your air control is very choppy. Take your time and "draw" air and use as little as possible. Choking off the air on the bell end will allow you to use less air and you can open up as you want to get louder.A good practice technique as Larry said, is to just do a single note and hold it. That will force you to draw smoothly. Keep practicing.

Okay thank you, my ring finger on right hand seems to want to sit in the bell nicely but then it removes my sound chamber, I will work on it more though. Thanks.
Quote from: guesswho on June 15, 2018, 08:08:00 PMI don't know a lot about theses suction type callers, but it sounds like the internals in the mouth piece may be to large. Your technique sounds like it's on the right track. But if those internals are to big it's really going to hinder your progress. Be similar to trying to make a precision surgical cut with a butter knife. Even if the technique is right, the end result won't be what it could be. Good luck and have fun with it.

Thanks.Just a thought, ring finger on the bell opening can work, but I think you might have more luck sliding the right hand down where the index/middle finger is on the bell end, gives a larger chamber and just maybe more volume/character/control. Also think you might want to try playing around getting some snappy clucks/cutts that will help you feel the amount of air draw/lip pressure needed which will then enable you to transition into yelps.....seems counter-intuitive, but it helped me.
