NEF 10 gauge choke tube recommendation

I have deep-cleaned the bore of my old NEF single shot 10 gauge, 24 inch, threaded-barrel, topped with a Burris FF3. Can't believe I sometimes still deal with that heavy chunk of metal but I like the overall simplicity of loading & cleaning and the short total length in tight blinds and really don't notice the recoil in a hunting situation. I have the following tubes: Kick's GT .700, Primos Jellyhead .690, Trulock nonported .695. Haven't tried HTL shot yet in any tube (not supposed to in Kick's) but my patterns with any of these tubes using Winchester Lead #5 or #6, old Remington Lead #4 or #6 , Federal Lead #4, #5, #6,  at 40 yards is just fine but not phenomenal considering the expense of shells and my growing intolerance of lugging it distances on public land. Perhaps the answer is HTL shot (e.g., Federal Heavyweight #7) or just maybe my little Charles Daley 20 gauge Youth pump (can't believe I still haven't shot it yet!) will replace the old 10 this season. Any other recommendations for the old 10 gauge?

Try the Trulock non ported choke with Federal Heavyweight 7 shells first. That is what mine likes best and those shells are 15g/cc and will smash a bird with 2 0z payload(438 pellets).

I've got the GT .690 and shoot the Federal HW 7's. A Pure Gold .690 w/ the HW 7's gives similar #'s w/ nice even patterns.  IMO you'll never shoot out a GT tube w/ HW shells unless you severely overchoke it.  If interested, I've got a new, never fired Pure Gold .690 resting in my choke tube box, PM me.

What the thread pattern for your pure gold?  I need a colonial thread pattern, or tru choke i blieve fits as well.

My NEF 10 gauge takes a standard Browning Invector.

I,ve used a NEF factory .720 choke tube in my BPS and got 250 in the 10 inch circle with magblends.

TRex18

I just ordered a Rhino .720 for my NEF 36 Barrel today.....goin to try that with some mag blends soon.....wondering if it will beat out my Kicks GT .695 .....Very interested....

I feel the magblends are gonna work well with rhino
I feel Fed HW 7s and HW 6s are good from Kicks.

Which to chose....?

Will post patterns in future....

TRex: Will Rhino custom make one in any exit diameter, or is .720 all they offer?

Big 10

I called Rhino yesterday and ordered a .720. They told me with magblends you should get 286+hits @40yrds.(But I think they shoot 12 inch circle.) If I wasn't satisfied call them and they would help straighten it out. I'm shooting a 24" BPS.It seems too like the more open choke.check out my post.Rhino said it was backboredand that was the reason.  My nephew on the other hand has a 30 inch barrel it likes tighter choke. But I cant find anything that shoots xx5s 2oz any better than 126 hits in 10"@40.
