My two favorites that are easily had are SS which has a very strong following on here (rightfully so) and Albert Paul calls. Mr. Alberts calls are a bit more expensive and may have a slight wait. I don't own a Spring Creek, but might have to fix that. Hadn't read a bad thing about them.

Al and Josh (SS) are Top Notch in my book. I own a couple and they are true blue turkey killers. Russel Beard and Mr. Albert both build mighty fine calls. I have an old Billy White that has seen many turkeys take a dirt nap. If you are just starting out believe me. ONE WILL NOT DO IT......

If you can find an old, original Primos Heartbreaker, buy it.

I also really like the Hustlin' Hen.

The good Lord ain't made a gobbler I can't kill.  I just gotta be there at the right time.....  on the day he wants to die.

Can't go wrong with a David Holloran box call, he makes some sweet sound box calls for sure.

SS custom calls and Spring Creek Calls are both great options.

I can recommend both of these. Great calls, and great people to deal with

Thank you very much for the advice, been meaning to reply sooner, but work has been crazy lately. I am pretty much a rookie when it comes to turkey hunting, have killed a few but mostly luck. Would love to actually learn how to be successful, because of ability and not luck. But I'll take what I can get. Thank you again

So I think I have my box figured out, now someone school me on pot calls. Which pot material is the easiest to make a decent turkey sound? Does anyone have a recommendation on a call maker for a pot call

I really like Albert Pauls calls, I own a few of them and everyone are turkey killers. They are made one at a time by hand and the quality is beyond reproach. I own three of his calls and each one I killed a Osceola the first time using the call.

Well what box you going with???

Pot calls, slates easy to run but in wet or humid air it might not work well so I'd recommend a glass crystal call. I'm very partial to Jimmy schaffers calls but halloran makes a great one too. But there are hundreds of good pot calls

I'm pretty sure I'm going to give SS a try, calls look really nice and are reasonably priced. I haven't had time to contact them yet. Need to decided on what type of wood I want
