Quote from: grayfox on February 10, 2015, 10:19:49 PMHad the same problems with my 3" 21" barrel also. Tried a Remington Super Full, Remington Extra Full, Comp-N-Choke .655, Comp-N-Choke .675, Remington Ventilator, Carlson's .665, Primos Jellyhead .665 & a Hevi-Choke .662. Never patterned worth a flip with lead loads. Maybe some slightly decent patterns with Winchester HV Supreme #6's. Finally tried some Hevi-13 #6's & 7's & got some good patterns.

Last year I use a Hevi-Shot choke with Hevi-13 #7's. This is what I'll probably be using this year. It put a up few more shot that the Carlson's & Jellyhead. Just ordered a Truglo Strut Stopper Xtreme .643" Constriction to play around with. If I was you I'd get some Hevi-13 #7's.
Quote from: Tom Foolery on February 12, 2015, 08:59:09 PMI've had 2 short barreled 870's and with a Kicks .655, a Kicks .660 and a Ventilator I barely average over 100 with lead HV #6's and lead #5's using the Kicks .660 because it threw the best overall pattern. The Win LB #6's were 180+ from my short 870.Mine is slinging Hevi 7's when it goes to the woods.
