Very curious as to the northernmost range of wild turkeys, in both eastern & western Canada. I live in Georgia & have a daughter near Seattle.

I couldn't locate a map like this one but the descriptions of each may say how far north they range into Canada.

I have seen birds in the Huntsville area of Ontario.
There are also bird populations in Southern British Columbia and Manitoba.

As far as I know there is a population of Merriam Turkeys in Southern Alberta. Not really sure about Manitoba but here in Ontario I would guess the Northern limit would be about Sudbury which would be near Algonquin Provincial Park. Huntsville is not far from my location and southern Ontario the turkey is doing well. I have attached a map of the Ontario Breeding Area of the wild turkey. I would think that their breeding area is limited to Southern Ontario would be food and snow. Boreal Forest doesn't give much for food.

the most north they've been reported in Ontario is North Bay. The northernmost huntable population thus far is on St. Joe's Island by Sault St. Marie. We've been having some pretty brutal winters up here lately.
