.643 is really tight...WOW what does it look like at ideal turkey distance, like 15-25 yards...nothing wrong with shooting them 35 to 40 but I know I'm jumpy enough to miss one at close range if its too tight...I'd be interested to see if any of the .665 chokes make a difference to your setup...seems like the tighter constrictions all do the same thing...

I originally had a choke in 665 and was told by everyone it had too many open spaces in my pattern.

I normally use a Comp n choke const. of .655 with 3" winchester xtended range #6's.
( the 30 yard pattern was shooter error)

I'd keep the Truglo, or shoot the comp n choke, they look similar...make sure to adjust the sight or your aim so you're not shooting high and you should be good out to 40 yards...IMO high pellets are useless...at least pellets low can still strike the bird...Also recognize the fact that at 40 yards you do have some holes so I'd definitely look for open shots at that point like fields, clearings, logging roads to get your whole pattern downrange...if you're in the brush/woods IMO you have a great 30 yard gun...just my thoughts.   We'll find out next Spring!

I guess I'm like everyone else, I'm always looking to improve my pattern. But it seems i always go back to my original setup.

I think some simply seem to reach their limit...or at least I give up before finding anything better...I had a Remington 1187 that would shoot its own factory flush full choke the same as an undertaker and jellyhead....OK with lead to about 33 yards after that you'd have to get lucky.  Even with the Hevi 13 it didn't matter, you still got about 33/35 yards of legit killing patterns that was it.  I have seen other people have great luck with that gun.  In mine, I was out of options, modify it (forcing cones etc) new barrel or give up...I moved on.  My X2 took 4 different chokes, 2 load combos before I found a real good one.  Same thing with rifles, some shoot great, some take a lot of tinkering to find the right combo.  The only thing I'd say if you really wanted to eliminate the guessing and obstacles buy a custom choke.  Call SumToy Customs or Indian Creek or Rob Roberts Gunworks, explain what you have and they will recommend a choke for you and swap them out till you find what you want...It can get expensive but if the best quality is what you want, at least you'll know when you shoot that you have a top quality choke.

x2   The best pattern I've seen with a 1300 have been either with a IC .660 or a PG .670 using HS 3-2-7. Both chokes cosistantly averaged between 240 and 260 in a 10" circle. It seems you like #6 HS, so I would open the choke up a little.  Hevi Shot deos not need to be constricted like lead to get a good hunting pattern out to 40 yards.

From what I can see, it looks like a pretty dense pattern, just a little high. I'd shoot at least 3 more shots at big paper and then see how your patterns are looking.

Never seem a 1300 pattern with the HS .662, but always thought it would be a great choke to try with #6 or #7 hs loads. Who knows, it may be a winner.
