hevi 13 #6s 147 in 10" circle 40 yds
mag blends 159 in 10" circle 40 yds
he just got choke today and can still exchange it so what would you guys reccommend to get better #s
i am going to polish his barrel on sunday but i told him to get a different size choke what do yall think?

Take the choke back and get a JellyHead .660  My 870 26" barrel puts 220 in a 10" circle at 40 yards with Hevi 13 6-2.25-3.5.  Its a tried and true killer as many people on here will agree with me.  I'm going to try the #7s this year to see what my numbers look like.

Jelly head does very well in mine

southernfly

have three 870s and they all do best with jelly head

Jellyhead is the ANSWER!!   The .660 and .665 were made for Remington barrels. :turkey2:

JH .665 works for me better than the Rhino .660

i agree, jellyhead shoots great in the Rem., i have 2 870's with .660's and they both out shoot any thing else in my 870's. I would deep clean that barrel also. Or better yet polish it, thats what i'm doing this week to both mine.

JH 660 or 665 polish barrel good to go!

What do you guys think about Indian Creek .665 for the 870?

My 870 hates the Jellyhead .665. I'm shooting a Indian creek .665 get great lead numbers.

How does the IC .665 do with Hevi 6's, 7's.?? Im shooting 220's with a 21"bbl out of my Rem 870/ Kicks .655 and Hevi 3/2/7's.  Thinking about IC .665 but i cant seem to pull the trigger..literally. Not sure if there will be a definate increase. Allot of money for a possible 20-30 pellets.

My Rem 870 21" barrel .660 rhino averages around 230-250 @ 40yds and that's with a 3" hevi #7.Hope this helps you out.

I am using a Hevi Shot choke in my 870 and I am using Hevi 3" 2oz #6's, and getting 181 @ 40 yards in a ten inch circle.

I got 160s with a 2oz magblend through a dirty barrel *4th or 5th shot through an already dirty barrel* and 140 with 1 5/8 oz 6s (after the shot with the mag blend).  I would swap that choke out for a jh665, pg670, or a ic 665 from what I am hearing.
