Crazy !! A buddy of mine bought one when they lst came out .
He literally cut several pockets off that he didn't like ,,,
If only he had known what they are worth now !

Everything is worth what buyer will pay! 4K to you is $4 to someone else. Supply and demand baby

The Dixon went for $12,500. A Fox Vest #70 and a bottle of Mossy Oak Bourbon went for $14,000...

For us average rural people that is a lot of $$$$$$!  The wealthy supporter that is a drop in the bucket! Like someone said earlier supply and demand meet collectability.

I'm sure clever accountants can hide these kind of "donations."  Evidently it's become harder to do but there is such a thing called "working the system."  A good accountant is worth his weight in gold, especially for very wealthy business owners. It's the American way, the business of America is business.

I don't think it takes a clever accountant to write such an auction item off. The NWTF is a 501 (C)(3) charitable organization so anything purchased at any of their auctions is a "charitable donation" above the fair market value of the item.

Like I said I "think" that's the deal. And I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last month.

Well , the way I see it is if they got the money to spend and they want it , go ahead. We only live once and you sure can't take it with you. If that brings someone joy , who am I to criticize? Myself would never entertain that kind of money on a vest. Wouldn't matter if I had it or not. Just my outlook.

Not that it changes things for me but was that a Mr Fox #70 or a Mr Fox #7 that came with all of the calls?

For certain. Look at the prices on "collector" cars these days. Absolutely nuts but if you got the $$$ and like them, good on ya. Check this from sometime just recently

The auction closed at 1300 EST with a high bid of $5,200.00 and reserve not met. It was relisted seconds later.

Every time I see something like this my first (and last) thought immediately returns to that old mantra,..."Some people just have more money than they have got sense".   ;D
Sometimes I wish I fell into that category...I think I would be willing to trade...for a while, at least...
...Then again, it might be hard to make that trade when a guy doesn't have anything to trade with...   ::) ;D
Along those lines... I ran into an old high school buddy who won a million in Vegas.  Came back to Michigan and bought some land and two years later an oil company discovered he was sitting oil.  Same guy is divorced and neither his kids or siblings don't talk to him.  As he was telling me his story I was (maybe) a bit envious.  Until he got to the last part.
