The best turkey hunting I’ve seen in my lifetime was pre N”WTF”.   That organization was/is better at increasing turkey hunter numbers than they were/are turkey numbers.    The states would have done just as well without them with the restoration, and the turkey/turkey hunter ratio would be more in check.   Deer numbers used to be low as well.   I’m glad they didn’t form a sister organization NDF!

The logo looks so bad, I'm having a hard time un-seeing it. Whoever thought that was a good idea and even pushed it forward for dollars to go into developing that should be fired. Hate to say that, but just my opinion

Just visited their website. They have a lot of events scheduled in Florida, may have to visit the event near me. Only 10 minutes away. Never been to one. Curious what they are all about.

I had not heard anything about this. My recovery has pretty much taken me out out the loop. I read what was published on the NWTF site. It appears that everything was done to appeal to younger folks. I'm certainly not a part of that crowd, so best I stay quiet until I learn more.
However if I may be of help to anyone, just let me know.
Thanks,
Clark

New NWTF tee shirts now for sale! All proceeds go to help pay for the new logo! Get'em while they are in stock. $35.00 each or two for $50.

You couldn't pay me to wear that shirt! Hard to believe they actually
paid somebody for that "artwork"! :TooFunny:

While am not a fan of the new logo I am also not the target audience. Reading through the website they are trying to get younger hunters involved. Which is a must to keep the organization viable.

Hope it works, again reading through the website, they are doing good things.

This whole thing reminds me of what NASCAR did. They tried to make
the tracks more appealing to the younger people, to get more young
people to come to the track. They did this after they had already
alienated their core base of fans.

There's only one flaw in that logic. NASCAR forgot that the way younger
people get introduced to racing is usually by an older family member.
I think maybe the NWTF has forgotten that the way younger hunters get introduced to hunting and hunting organizations is usually by an older family member. It looks like the NWTF alienated a lot of its members in 2008 and now they've redone their image, logo, etc.,
to attract a new younger base. Maybe they don't think they can get the people that left them back. A lot of similarities to the NASCAR debacle.

I will pose one question to you Crghss - If 90% of the guys on this forum are serious turkey hunters, why wouldn't they be part of the target audience regardless of age?

Older folks also tend to have more time and money to donate.

Part of the target audience? Not sure people on OG aren’t part of the target audience.

What makes you think 90% of OG is “older folks”?

You’ll need to ask NWTF the reasoning behind what they are doing, I’m just reading info from their website.

I think you misunderstood what I was asking. I said if 90% of the guys on
this site are serious turkey hunters, why wouldn't they be part of the
target audience regardless of age. I didn't say 90% of OG is older folks.

I know you can't answer for them, but my point is it seems like a
short-sighted move on their part. I would think you would want as many
serious turkey hunters as you could find regardless of age.

It's not for real man. It's just a joke. I used to be a graphic artist for a screen printing shop. It is a ridiculous logo though. The other logo was fine & looked great. They wasted a bunch of money that could have been used for more important things. I will never give them any of my money.
