Part of what has made me lean harder toward one of Glenda's satchels for a post-Christmas offseason purchase over getting a turkey vest now is that it's waterproof. But I very much want something that makes it easy to call every 150 yards when moving through the woods—without having to go through the hassle of either holding my box call in my hand or get it out of my backpack each time. I even stuck it in a side pants pocket with my wallet wedging it to it wouldn't fall out.

Can't imagine her satchel wouldn't be an improvement over that.

it is...  i guess it really depends on the person.  i don't reach for different calls while i'm moving.  i carry a trumpet.  this setup almost requires a seperate chair of some sort to sit on.  that is main reason i switched.  im getting older and sitting on a pad on ground for more than 20-30 minutes gets real uncomfortable.  i found i can sit comfortably in a "gobble lounger" style chair for several hours without having to shift around.  I originally was sticking my chair in the back of a vest which was cumbersome to say the least.  you can get to the pots pretty easy when it is shouldered.  unclip one side or both and you can reach in and get one.  i think its an excellent alternative to a vest and the large pack that i have will hold alot more.

side note on waterproof- i sprayed the outside of mine good with a waterproof sealant spray and the water just rolls off.
