A little tip: Some of the hardest and most dense hardwoods are also very oily and won't run well or w/ any repetition if you don't first soak the tip @ 1", in acetone to pull out the oils prior to carrying in the field.

Never heard of that before and I have a custom Purple Heart striker and a couple Rosewoods that have never run well no matter how much you condition them. You didn't mention how long to soak them. A tad more information please. Thanks!

What about those air-tight plano tackle boxes? One of the large ones could probably hold 50 strikers. They have nice latches and are also waterproof.
