Glass. It'll get loud but with the changing of striker wood and pressure , you can really tame it down for some soft talk.

Slate, the op never said we were limited to one striker, and that's were things get fun, Ipe, Osage, Purpleheart, Dymondwood, Persimmon...

My "Lights Out"anodized aluminum call offers the most consistent, pure sound. It's a killer and that would be my choice.
