Probably slate.Although not the loudest or most weather hardy,slate seems to be the easiest for me to get good consistent sound from with a wide array of strikers.

SS Customs Slate.  Slate to me is the most realistic....however, I own about every type of pot call surface made!!!

Wouldn't buy it.  I'd make it.  It would be a walnut pot slate over glass.
