Just curious if anyone has heard of any new 20 gauge turkey guns coming out in 2026? Im holding out for a 20 gauge in the Mossberg 940 style, hopefully this is the year.

Ive been hearing rumors about 940 sub gauges for over a year now. Holding out for a 28ga. myself.

Look into the SA-20 and SA-28 turkey versions from Mossberg, they are both exellent guns. Z

Ive looked at them a bunch. I dont need more turkey guns, just want one (or a few lol). The 940 with the 18.5" barrel and adjustable LOP is the best production turkey gun ever made, imo. Im holdin out for that!

I don't see Mossberg making a 940 subgauge to compete with their own products, but if they do, I hope you get one  :santaclaus:  Z

I've owned a Mossberg 835 and a youth model bantam pump for 20 years.  My son even killed a number of nice bucks in Ohio with the 20 gauge.  Both were fantastic guns, especially for the money.  When my son turned 16 I bought him a 935.  We had a lot of trouble with that gun cycling shells.  Kinda turned me off of mossberg.  I got burned this year when I bought my grandsons an escort 410 youth.  It's been gone for "repairs" for 7 months.  Knowing that the subguage mossbergs are manufactured in Turkey, it makes me not even want to consider a mossberg.  I'm not trying to stones at this post.  Just my honest opinion.  Thank you

If I wrote off every firearm manufactuer that I had issues with (mechanical and/or customer service) I would have to start manufacturing my own pretty soon. They all make good ones and they all make crappy ones. I just buy the ones that I find interesting, modify them with after market parts if appropriate and learn to fix them myself when they inevitably break. The 12ga. 940 pro turkey is the only turkey gun I own that I havent modified, and one of only a few that hasnt had any mechanical issues (yet).

Admittedly, I'm a collector and a tinkerer, and I dont mind voiding a warranty. I get that most people dont want to do that.

Love my Benelli SBE 3 20 gauge. They actually built it on a slim 20 gauge frame, super light, great camo options and it patterns real nice. A great option for you if your looking for a reliable semi. Always cycles flawlessly....

I have a 20G 870 youth and a 935 Mossberg,  would love to see a 940 pistol grip version in 20g, if they scale it down like the 870 youth is. 935 is a shooter but is heavy.

I have at least 8 different ones, I like the first franchi affinity,
And yes even better the my benelli m2 20

I know that Remington had major issues for a while and folks got turned off with their 870, but they are under new ownership now and I think their 870 (now called the Fieldmaster) is as good a gun as their earlier ones (i have both the old and the new to compare). No doubt that the action is smoother on the new ones.

Point being - if you are not totally against a pump shotgun, the youth compact 20 gauge in synthetic is a very good choice. It comes with a fully adjustable and easy to use shim kit to change LOP for a larger man and the gun itself is very short overall length and a joy to carry in the woods. They are drilled and tapped for a sight, and I love the recoil pad they use now and the gun to me has very little recoil with the heavier TSS loads.

I have a hard time saying anything bad about the Benelli SBE3 or the 870. My only issue with the SBE3 is the point of impact, they usually shoot high. But with a dot sight, that is a non issue for me. Nothing but positive comments for the 870. Z
