Best calls in my opinion are the ones you never hunt without. While I hunt with an array of calls, one, if not both of these are with me every time. The past few years I find myself just bringing the long box and 2 trumpets. The short box has some nice mature hen yelps, the kind of "yawk yawk" yelp you look for in a box. The long box call is like no other I own. I can literally get a young hen, mature hen, gobbler yelp and a great jake yelp.
