I spent a few days in New York this year, first year hunting there. Never heard or seen a bird, very disappointing, always heard good things, drove many miles to different areas too.

It's pretty thin. After this rain we had in May I expect a poor hatch. But as a turkey nut I keep trying.

Everyone I talked to said the birds were mostly silent until I think it was the last week or the last 10 days. I only got out once this year because the truck broke down and I still have to get my gear out of the woods.
