Title: HUNTING AND FISHING SEASONS STILL ON WITH COVID19?
Post by: mookyj on March 31, 2020, 11:01:19 PM
(https://i2.wp.com/www.turkey-talk.com/tblog/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/cv19huntfish.jpg?w=800)

COVID19 , Corona Virus, China Virus, whatever label you prefer, it has or will have an impact on your turkey hunting and fishing seasons. For those of you with early seasons down south, you have enjoyed a geographic advantage that the rest of the country will see less of or maybe not at all. You have my envy for time afield.

MN is encouraging people to hunt and fish, despite being on a "shelter at home" order until 4/10.

Virginia canceled trout Heritage day and put other restricions on fee fishing. Plus govener has put out a stay at home order. However the order has a bunch of loop holes. I wii be in NF cutting next years wood. Won't be anyone near me for sure. A lot of restrictions on large gatherings. Not sure why everyone has to hang so close together.

CO asks Panic Morons to STOP spreading Bull...

We are receiving an influx of calls and reports of false social media posts and even robocalls claiming that hunting and fishing seasons are canceled, that valid licenses are no longer required to hunt and fish, or that park fees have been rescinded due to the COVID-19 outbreak. These reports are false, and appear to have increased based on today being April Fool's Day. Do not share your personal information with anyone calling claiming to provide CPW product refunds.

We're did you hear this? I just checked the LDWF site nothing about a closer, it did say NOT to believe rumors. Why would they close the waterways when they could close the "prop shops"? LDWF site specifically says woods and water are open just don't gang up.

I am seeing an increased amount of hikers + bikers out lately. I hunt New York on 5/1 soon after the New Jersey opener.

Seeing that here too, people are already sick of being locked in their homes.

I shot a bird on private land on opening day (March 22) here in SC. Last I checked (last night) WMAs are still open as normal and hunting/fishing seasons are still good to go. Of course, as we all know, that could change at the flip of a switch...

looks like Livingston parish is considering,

One Parish considering closing something and saying the whole state has closed something is a little different? There's enough miss information going on now about the virus itself without adding too the confusion.

How bout taking another run at that? You have mixed all the quotes together and it makes zero sense. Or maybe that was the point?

Went on a great hunt in Florida last weekend but the drive back was a big wakeup call and reality check!

I was going southbound on I95 when Florida put up the roadblock targeting out of state people from New York etc.

It was a heart breaker.

Then when I got to South Carolina signs every few miles saying mandatory for visitors to quarantine.

Spooked me enough I am done with out of state hunts.

Serious time folks everyone be safe and take care of your families!
