After reading the threads asking about different turkey vests, I never see vests with more than 2 pot call pockets.
I use an Alps Elite 4 which carries 4 pot call. Don't think I could ever carry any less, along with my 2 box calls.
So my two questions are:
How many pots do you carry.
Is there another vest that has 4 pot call pockets.
I carry 4 i use Glendas minimalist satchel works great
I carry five in the nomad mg vest. Three in the holder pouch and two on the inside two mesh pockets.
My Gunslinger will hold 4, I normally carry 3.
I carry two pot calls...a Cody glass and slate. Have no desire to carry either other or more. I use the glass more than the slate generally.
I have never carried more than two. Takes up space that could be used for something important, like snacks.

3 for me and bout 2 mouth calls - no boxes here so I got room
2 for me
5 pots a push/pull and a box.
I rarely carry one.
One pot call and two very different strikers.
3 pots for me. 1 box and a few diagram calls.
I used to carry 4 pots and 3 or 4 strikers. but since I got into trumpets and yelpers, I have scaled back to 2 pots and 2 strikers. I do carry a spare striker on an inside vest pocket just in case something happens. and a trumpet around my neck and a yelper or wingbone in a striker pocket. if I ever get lucky enough to score an old gobbler pushpin, I might add that to the mix. I am more into diversity of calls now instead of just diversity of pots.

My question would be, do you have to walk long distances, or are you hunting private land where you do minimal walking? If you have to do a lot of walking like some of us, and even more so if that walking is in tougher terrain, - have you thought about taking two pots and four strikers? Two strikers for each pot. When you change the striker you have a completely different hen. May not sound so different to you at two feet, but to the bird, changing that striker means he is hearing a totally different bird. You could cut some weight out of your vest if that would work for you, and you would still have four different hen turkeys with your pot calls.
To answer your question, I for many many years would carry two pots and three to four strikers. But, over time it was obvious that there were so many days that I did not even touch the extra pot. So nowadays, I carry one pot (change the pot out a time or two during the week, especially if I am hunting on the same public ground) and two or occasionally three strikers.
Usually two, sometimes three, and about ten different strikers.

It all depends on the weather 2 -3 - 4 especially the first part of the season... Rain / cold / wind / humidity etc .... Different pot surfaces along with other calls ...
One.
And one striker.
Two pots: one soft coaxing, tree yelping slate, and one obnoxious barking glass, crystal or aluminum etc.
And I always go with three strikers, usually return with two ::)
I carry two pot calls and usually four strikers. I sometimes swap pot calls as I go thru the season to keep a new sound for birds I've worked before.
2 or 3 usually. And 3 or 4 strikers. Box call or 2. Couple mouth calls. HOWEVER, thinking about it, I'm probably going to the bare minimum this year. I really don't see a need to carry all the extra weight and take up space.

We have a winner. With that answer, clearly you reveal that you have hunted much more than a day or two.
One, ocsasionally two and 3 strikers. Mouth calls thats another story!
Two and 3-4 strikers
3 pots. Ceramic, slate and glass. 5 strikers. Never know what they will like or I will play well on any given day. Glenda Green satchel makes for easy access.

A little bit more, maybe. ;D
One, it will be a 2-sider (glass/slate) most of the time. 1-2 strikers tops...
2 pots, one glass one slate and 4-5 strikers

This comes up every year and I'm w Greg as far as the weather varies call but I've gone down from 4 to 2-3 calls. I can't bear to be without a gobbler pot. One of those calls I don't use all the time but imo it needs to be there. Besides that maybe a slate and aluminum. If it rains an enticer aluminum switches out my regular aluminum. Call runs soaking wet.
As far as not enough pockets for calls. Doesn't really matter to me. I'd never throw a call in a pocket unprotected. Two in the call pockets in a coozie, one in the regular pocket in a coozie. Scratcher and a longbox and I've got more calls than I need.
My vest has two of the round pot call pockets on it. One holds a turkey call and the other holds two oatmeal creme pies

I carry 2 Pots. Traditional Slate.
On light Rain days or Threatening to rain,I carry up to 4 Pots- all Glass.
Just two one slate, one glass and 4 different strikers
Vest set up to hold 4, I carry 3 on most days.
Slate, Glass and Ceramic and multiple strikers.
2 pots, 4 strikers. Trumpets have cut down on my vets load.
I generally always make sure I have one slate-surface pot and a couple of strikers. That call is used pretty rarely and under very specific circumstances. On some occasions, I will carry multiple pots with varying surfaces and a couple more strikers for those times when I think I might be sitting somewhere passing time in the woods, or occasionally when I am having trouble striking a gobbler and want to try presenting a totally different sound just for the heck of it. Those instances are even more rare than the first. Quite often, none of them ever come out of my pockets.
The only other calls I will not hunt without are mouth calls,...and I admittedly carry way more of those than I need to. ;D ::)
I typically carry 1 but this year will be carrying two. The first is a Enticer calls next generation glass and corian pot. It has a baffle on the back that you can cover your sound holes with and change the tone from loud and clear to low and raspy, is waterproof, and you can call soft stuff on the scuffed up pot. The new addition is a Roger Parks new double spur pot. The rest of my pot calls sit on a shelf at the house. As far as strikers I carry 4. The first is the one that came with the enticer call, it sounds great on it, the second and third are Roger's hen and Jake strikers, the 4th I have no idea who made it or what wood it is, my brother gave it to me back in the late 90's and it sounds great on every surface and every call I've ever put it to. I'd assume throw my pots away if I ever lost that striker. I rarely use a pot though, 90% of my calling is with mouth calls, I typically carry 5 or 6. The other 10 percent is a pot, a box, or a trumpet/wingbone.

3 usually with 6 strikers--red slate, glass or crystal and aluminum or ceramic.
i usually carry 3
cody WC slate and 1 other either glass, ceramic or aluminum
and a soft talker - either a parks or watkins coaxer
I carry either 1 or 2 pots and 2 or 3 strikers. The Grounded vest holds 4 pots and 4 strikers in the same pocket.

you aren't trying hard enough.... you should be able to get AT LEAST 4 in there
Usually two, ceramic and slate. Have a new glass that will get some time this season as well so maybe three some days. I will probably just continue to only use my ceramic, but the others are there to make me feel better.
Normally 3. I have carried 4 but honestly 2 is plenty.
2, glass and slate w/ 3 strikers and multiple mouth calls.
Five,
One each: crystal,glass,ceramic,slate,aluminum

At least three: slate, crystal, copper and sometimes I'll add a fourth but this year it may be a trough instead of a true "pot". Several different strikers

I rarely carry one.
I know why too. Those river cane trumpets are awesome!
Usually 2, sometimes 3. A Cody "Woodsman" slate and a Cody "Woodsman" glass. I use mouth calls the most though. This year I have a new river cane trumpet call to try that was made special just for me. Guesswho made it? I have been practicing and getting better with it. By May I should be good to go. Love that Georgia river cane!
A lot. 4-6 typically including a hooks gray slate, Paul Hicks or Busters Red Slate, Paul Hicks or Busters Glass, Darrin Dawkins Aluminum, Paul Hicks ceramic, and Enticer Wet One. Slate calls are my bread and butter. I usually carry about a dozen strikers as well in addition to one box call and a couple of mouth calls. I occasionally carry a push button as well but almost never use it.
I run two vest, each have two calls. One call is a trial call, different in both vests. The other call is a world class, 1 in both vest. Both vest have 3 strikers, 1 is heavy hickory, the other is whatever ship with the trials.
When Cody is back up and running I will have two vests, with two Cody's each. Done with wasting my money trying to find a call that is as fluid to pair with the Cody's I run. I have wasted a decent chunk trying to find a good glass call to carry.
Oatmeal pies give me the heartburn! But that is an awesome use, I would be better to carry a Cody and a snack!

Box calls are "my thing", too. Still have a diaphragm in my cheek 100% of the time I'm hunting and use it for 80%-90% of my calling.
Close to 10
Usually 2, with 4 strikers

I've always carried 3 or 4, in glenda's satchel i have 2 boxes, and other stuff obviously. It's clearly too much because I always use the same pot (or two) and maybe use a box every now and then. This season i'm going to keep it to 2 pots, 1 box, 3/4 mouth calls and a bottle of water. maybe a hooter and crow call
Three, a glass, grey slate and a green slate.
2...Slate pot for soft yelps, clucks, and purring. The other one is glass over aluminum for the brighter sounding yelps/cuts when trying to strike one.
Most days they are just extra weight in the vest though.
Grounded impact vest has 4 pot call pockets, and 4 striker pockets

I'm with you BDeal. Almost verbatim on pots. I'll be trying a cherry gray slate trough this year as well. Plenty of strikers to get multiple hen combos as well. If I can't get any action on one, I switch to a different Hen. Never the same hen twice in succession.
Usually 2 pots and 2 strikers

2 pots 3 strikers. Although I only ever use one pot and one striker. I carry the others in case I lose my main pot and striker (which has happened plenty of times)
3 and a custom trough call.....

I usually have 5 pots with me and 4-6 strikers. Hoping to reduce to 3 pots and two strikers this year but we will see how that goes.
2 pot calls maybe three and a striker for each. Plus two Wooppie pies
Three for me and five strikers.
2 to 4 depending on the day. Normally some form of slate, a copper, Stumpy ceramic and I am making a green anodized aluminum that I want to try quite a bit along with others that I have made, they will get switched in and out.
1 or 2 not a large part of my calling rotation anymore. I used them a lot before I could run a mouth call and discovered scratch boxes. I'm more likely to carry 2 scratchers than 2 pots

2 pots. One glass and one slate.
2 pots . Aluminum and glass . Aluminum is used the most , but the glass has killed the most . Not a fan of slate as I've never found one I truly like. Both the aluminum and glass will get quiet. I am considering getting a copper from red beard for tree talk.
Crystal, glass, and a slate with hickory, dymondwood, and waterproof striker.
1 pot call, 3 strikers. Mouth calls in a wallet around my neck with a trumpet. That covers 99% of how I hunt. Will tote a box only if I feel like it, which is typically when covering new ground or in windy conditions, which usually equates to when I'm chasing them somewhere outside of my local area.
If any vest has space for a second pot call, I've found it's a great place for extra Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream Pies or Moonpies. ;D
Weight & room. How do you deal with those elements. I bought me a adjustable striker from AMCalls and some dowels from different species. Your head weigh remains constant. Variable dowel length and multi-species of dowels from which to choose affords you much variety in your calling. Swapping dowels is not a problem so long as you mark the dowels to retain your sweet spot(s). The dowel heads are the heavier part of a striker, so you reduce much of the weight while increasing your variety by carrying a few extra dowels to exchange.

You are right about that brother. It is all about timing. I try to make sure I eat that type stuff when I know that I have about 30 minutes to get it all worked out of my mouth and teeth before back working a bird. And that works out to perfection about - well maybe one percent of the time. Point being - If I am having trouble striking a turkey, all I have to do is pop a peanut butter sandwich into my mouth and the woods will light up with gobbling.
One, occassionally two. 3 strikers. Mostly use a crystal for locating.
2
One at a time but rotate them often.
3-4 depending on the day.

Cody Spec I Glass

Cody World Class Glass or Slate or a Lyman DD or a Halloran or something else that strikes me at the time
6 different one or two piece strikers. Cody Black Knight, Lyman ABW, Tulipwood, Diamond Wood and BW Ebony and sometimes a Cody carbon tip or Enticer aluminum tip for bad weather
I carry too many calls and know it, but it always seems that when I trim back I end up wishing I had something that I took out, so I just carry them and get used to it as the season goes.

3-4 pots. A glass, either Cody or Halloran. Aluminum or copper. And never go to woods without Cody World Class.
I normally will throw 4 in my vest
3 normally and 3-5 strikers.
I carry 2 pots, one glass and one slate.
3 strikers, one dogwood, one persimmon, and one dyamondwood. All play well on either pot.
I also carry a long box and several diaphragms.

I agree. I came to the conclusion that a turkey call is made to take walks in the woods and not just sit in a cabinet or bin, so I do my part to keep them getting fresh air.
Thanks for understanding Zobo.
Last year was my first year since high school so almost 15 years, sun high school I used one call and it was a scratch call my uncle made. Last year I used a Woodhaven cherry classic and a couple hooks diaphragm calls. This year I've kind of caught the bug. I would like to add a crystal mistress and have already added another diaphragm call. May have to add a box at some point, just haven't gotten that far yet. I sure like the sounds of a pot.
