I like the content of the " Bayside Legion". I enjoy the Videos where where there is a 3 day Turkey Hunt and no Gobbler was taken. That True To Life right there. That Channel has great content.
I tend to watch Channels where only 1 Guy is Turkey Hunting. I have lost interest in a Group Setting with a slight comedy to the Theme. Although many years back,I got a big Laugh out of watching a Knight + Hale Spring Turkey Video and Chuck Jones,I believe blurted out to David Hale-- Why are you Looking at me-- I didn't Kill nothing this year...
I have seen alot of Rookie Mistakes on- The Hunting Public like not having your Shotgun Loaded and a Gobbler is approaching fast.
Will Primos has the best on camera personality. I enjoy those video's. Matt Dale has interesting content as well.
So-- which Spring Turkey Utube Channel is your Fav? And throw up some close 2nds.
I start to watch many and quit watching often when they get too "cute". Don't really need to see several minutes of fixing breakfast and stopping for gas. Most 30 minute shows have about 10 minutes of actual hunting. The old K & H were good. Primos and Meateater turkey hunts are also decent. I'll record both. You're going to get some "mixed" opinions to this topic. LOL. :funnyturkey:
I like Shane Simpson and Catman the best. Both know turkeys pretty well and other things about the environment (Especially Catman....his landscape/plant knowledge is impressive). I watch Pinhoti and the Hunting Public too. Dave for his calling and turkey strategy.....dude knows turkey behavior. I like THP because of I would really like to go on a turkey tour one day. Aaron seems to be part turkey.

The older ones.
Shane Simpson. It takes alot of dedication to film alone and get the shot recorded. I could never do it.
Claycomb day by day series.

Claycomb day by day series.
His are good. I actually used to buy his DVD's.
I've, honestly, never watched or even THOUGHT about watching turkey hunting on YouTube. ???
I watch a lot of them. My 4 favorites are Shane Simpson, Catman,THP and Dave Owens. Of the four, Shane is my favorite. He's very good at self filming as is Greg on THP. That 360 camera Shane has is really impressive.
I have poor internet at my house so not a big YouTube watcher/ streamer. But when I'm somewhere with good service and down time, I enjoy the hunting public. But I have to admit that Zac is wearing on me. His fake southern accent is relentless and overdone. Too much cutesy playing to the camera between him and the guy from Wisconsin. It's a shame because Zac is a very good hunter. Aaron is the main reason I still watch them.
I've stumbled on some pretty decent wants but don't watch them on a regular basis. The Kentucky hardwood videos are pretty good.
But honestly I'd rather spend that time hunting myself or scouting or cutting firewood or something. It has to be the right circumstances for me to sit and watch them.
Im not into watching somebody shooting a turkey unless he is sitting beside me.
I honestly do not like any of them that much. I may watch one once or twice a year if that. I like the old Primos, Mad and Roger Raglin DVD's

Ditto x2, no thanks. But I will watch Zack Farmer run a trumpet on his porch once or twice a season, that I can do.
Shane Simpson
THP
I like the older Pinhoti stuff. Last year and this season just seems like something is missing from the recipe...
TWB. Team wing bone !

No kidding zac has really ruined it for me with that show. Now I just watch the episodes with Greg or Aaron. Ted has really come into his own. It's really unfortunate because Zac is a good hunter just a little too obnoxious for me.

Pinhoti gang is #1 to me. I will also watch Catman and Shane. If I watch THP its for Aaron. Zachs comedic relief is my least favorite.

Like most, I can watch an episode or two before the season starts. But thats all I can take, most start to annoy me pretty quick. I'm the same with ducks, deer and fishing videos. There is just something about them that makes me lose interest in the pretty quickly.
I think the reason I lose interest and get annoyed with them is because no matter how hard they try, they just can't capture the essence of the hunt. And b/c of that its not appealing for long. And in reality they never will be able to capture the essence of the hunt. You can't get that unless your are out in the woods yourself.

Yeah I like Ol Chad Claycomb. Hunts rough places and still pushes on thru.

I prefer the live show myself, me and nature.
I like Shane's the best. I enjoy some of the others too. I have no interest in watching someone set up camp, cook, go to Walmart to buy a license, goof off, etc. Just show me the hunt, please.
Dale outdoors
That Catman and that guy Shane. They post on here.
Like Dale outdoors too.

How can you not like the Wal-Mart scenes where they page the lady from the fabric department to try and figure out the hunting license system.
Shane Simpson is probably my favorite. Pinhoti, THP, Catman, DIY Sportsman. And Thanks, I forgot about Bayside Legion.
We didn't have Turkeys around here growing up, I'm late to the party. I try to glean any info I can from these channels. I do not watch regular tv, so might as well try to learn something. I'm trying run n gun this year as opposed to blind with decoys and bow, I'll attribute that to Dave/Pinhoti.
I don't watch much of it. I've seen a couple of the Pinhoti Project videos.
I've seen some of the Chasing 49 videos. His videographer is a real professional. I've met him, best photography/videography in the business I think.
I remember videoing hunts with my dad and uncle back in the late 80's with our home video recorder that you set on your shoulder. Because of that I respect the difficulty of actually recording a successful turkey hunt. My favorites would be:
Dale Outdoors - A good guy that wears his passion on his sleeve. He may be homeless, but you gotta give him credit for doing what he wants to do.
Pinhoti Project - Most educational. Guy knows what he's doing and puts on a masterclass.
Catman - Make you feel like your there. He's just an average guy that reminds me of a neighbor or friend that you would call up and say "lets go hunting".
THP - Fun, a bit over the top at times, but are very entertaining. The guys definitely know what their doing and they are amazing hunters. They found the perfect combination of hunting/entertainment, BUT they are getting a little too cute nowadays with their antics.
Bayside Legion - Have listened to them on podcasts, but haven't checked their video's out yet. Need to do that.
I watch videos because I think I can learn something from them, any thing small or insignificant can help me get a bird.
I started and still like Catman and Shane Simpson the most. THP a close second, then untamed (but I heard they split up, so I dont know what to expect), Dave Owens is good also, I like how when he does his editing he puts the time elapsed between cuts, lets me know I have to be a little more patient.
Once I stop seeing stuff I can learn from I tend to skip on them for a while or watch them when I run out. If they arent hunting public like me I dont even waste my time, it is not the same.
I really enjoyed that first year or two of pinhoti project. And anytime Aaron is hunting for thp I watch it. If it's anyone else I usually don't make time to watch it. I really enjoyed when Dave would hunt all year and put out those long videos all fall where you could see mistakes. Now it's kinda played out for me.
I don't particularly care for any of them.
I watch Outdoor Oklahoma, a show on PBS that covers a wide range of outdoor topics specifically rated to OK.
I'm convinced there's this one guy on YouTube that ruined a great public spot here. Haven't seen a turkey out there since.
Shane, Dave, Catman, Dale. I'm new so I am looking for instruction. Dave O, got me going on te trumpet. Never heard about it until him.

Where do you watch that one? They dont really have anything on YT. Are they a show on Outdoor channel or something?
I did videography/post production for a living for a bunch of years and I havent seen anyone better at it then Greg from THP.
Hunt quest with scott ellis
Based on how many views he gets on his videos, I'm not surprised nobody has mentioned him yet. Suggest watching the older ones first...new season seems to primarily be filmed hunts at acreage he is guiding on
Catman... Just a guy with some decent woodsman skills sharing the hunt... Not pimping himself or anything else... In the field having fun, and it is fun to watch him.
Team #noneofthem
Screw a YouTuber.
Shane Simpson. He is real life, no holly wood crap! Nothing staged, just as it is!!
Dave Owens is my favorite, I have a bro crush on him. I often dream about smoking a cheap cigar with him at night.
Pinhoti. Used to watch THP, but not so much anymore. I love seeing the hunts in South Florida, never been and probably will never get to go. Cool landscape.
Without getting back into the debate about the pros and cons YouTube and its impacts on turkey hunting, here are my thoughts:
I lean towards watching the videos of the guys that participate here at least once in a while. Shane, Catman, Derek (Bayside Legion), Dave (Pinhoti),...and maybe others I am not aware of that frequent OG,...all seem to be down-to-earth types that are not all hung-up on their exploits and are just trying to provide us turkey hunters with some entertainment while pursuing their passion for spring gobbler hunting. There are a handful of lesser-known guys out there that also fit that description that I watch on occasion, as well.
There are certain others that I have learned to skip over. Most of the time, that is due to the circumstances under which they are hunting which just don't fit my personal hunting style. Then again, I am certain there are folks that look at it from exactly the opposite viewpoint that I do when choosing what to watch. :)
Poor Man's Outdoors is another good Channel.

The ironic thing is, a lot of people will never get to go on public now due to spotlight put on that southern region. Opportunities continually reducing with more areas going draw hunt only and applications spiking on areas he's hunted.
