Where is everyone going this year? I plan on hunting my home state of Mississippi then heading off to Kansas, Missouri Wisconsin and New Mexico. I usually only hit a few states but stretching my wings out a little this year.

Alaska. The Aleutian Islands to be exact. I'm gonna be the first with #50 while all you other jokers are chasing 49.
To hell if we don't change our ways.
We are all going real old school. Not only will we mpt talk about where we find turkeys, we won't even name the state now. :TooFunny:

Good luck man, sorry everyone on this forum is a comedian/snowflake. Can't talk with each other about their plans and get excited anymore. We're not allowed to talk about places or wear turkey vests or discuss videos. The self proclaimed old school police will come after us!
D*MN deez u tubers!
That's a lot of traveling I am jealous. New baby will allow me to hunt in my home state and MAYBE a weekend trip to wva/Virginia or Ohio. I will be close to home most of this season.

Ain't no birds left in Kansas. Those Mississippi boys came an poached em all.
New Mexico, Colorado, Missouri, Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Wyoming, Montana ideally but shall see how things pan out!
Think my record is is 6 states in a year so that list is pretty optimistic!
If you want to try and follow me come on!
Funny how things have changed recently.
Florida, South Carolina, my home state of Kentucky, probably Indiana,Montana, probably West Virginia, and then possibly wisconsin or Minnesota to end the year. I'm not much of a planner so not a whole lot set in stone but I try to hunt as much as I can. It won't be long now

Sounds like a busy spring! Good luck to ya!
Wasn't trying to find a honey hole spot guys! Just making convo about out of state trips. I've been a member here for around 12 years now. Crazy how this place has changed
Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming and then Montana. Plus my home state Virginia.
My biggest turkey hunt trip to date. Finally saved enough enough vacation time to take this much time off. And I'm looking forward to this solo trip to get away from it all!

Death foot I almost struck out in Virginia last year. I was there for the opening week and I heard 2 birds gobble all week and it wasn't even a handful of gobbles combined. I hunted too high of elevation too early in the year. Saw TONS of sign and managed to harvest one
OK private, MO private, AR private, LA private, MS public
Tennessee, Mississippi and South Carolina
Likely just here in Missouri. I didn't draw my 4th season Iowa tag this year. Maybe take the boy to get himself a Merriam at my buddy's place in Nebraska, but that's a big IF.

That's no problem, plenty of turkeys for everyone there! I'll save a spot at the campfire and a case of White Claws for everyone. Just look for the truck with the YouTube stickers on it, if you don't see your favorite slap one on there!

Gonna stay right here in north west Florida. Chasing on public n private. Only thing florida has done good on. We have a ton of public land to hunt. But it aint all full of turkeys. Better scout or you might spend your weekend without a bird in 10 miles.

I'll be hunting my home state of KY and possibly might make the short drive to West Virginia. I've never put of state hunter before but just so happened to find some public about 2 hours from my house there and I'm already scheduled vacation time for their opening day.

I live on a state line , I'll hunt both . No road trips for me this year .
I'll waste my time here where I live in Southern Maryland, and then I'll head up to my hometown in NW PA and hunt some big woods birds and probably get skunked in both.

This is relevant to this post how? Naming where we plan to hunt by state is harmless. 5 of the 7 I'm going is private land. Just curious?
the plan is 4 additional states plus my home state. as of right now I have time set aside for all of them. All public but 1, which is a trip with a friend. Of course plans change ....it may take longer in one verses the other and i may come up short which is probable.
The usual time dependent MO, AL,TN, Ms. I did do florida too this year
I'm not into the whole 49 deal. After doing it for a slam I just don't really care for the other subspecies or the 49 goal.
I live for those hard gobbling lowland/swamp birds, but damn they seem the hardest to find sometimes

Start in Iowa, then SD., then my home state of MN., then off to Montana. May hit up WI late.
Work
Here home in Maine. Have friends coming from PA and FL that I'm guiding for. Might sneak over to VT to hunt with a friend over there as well.
ETX, SW & SE Arkansas, and hoping to convince the queen of the castle to let me utilize my current KS license I still have from quail season.

Lord willing I will hunt FL, TX, NE, SD and LA if I can fit it in.
I will be staying mostly home in Missouri and a late season hunt in Michigan. I will be retiring after 30 years teaching high school history and next year I plan on hitting some states that have been bucket lists for a while. I will be looking at some New Mexico draws and maybe Montana. Also, my son is about to head to his first duty station in the Air Force and will be in New Jersey. Figured I may as well look into that one as well.
Home state of Maryland then WA, ID and VA.
3 tags in my home state of ________. 1 public I struck out on last year, had issues with some non- hunters, I'll be avoiding that section this year.
And 2 private tags in counties I've always wanted to hunt. I try to hunt new to me areas of my home state every year because I'm somewhat of a cheapskate.
Only hunt pvt ground anymore. Mo, In, Ks

Adding a second hunter complicates it a lot, even more so if they elder.

Congrats on the retirement. Educator myself. I have to go 35. Sure isn't a very "turkey friendly" profession.
Just locally now, unexpectedly drew an arizona archery elk tag, all of my hunting budget and most of my vacation time will be devoted to that trip

Not going outside of 4-5 counties here in North Carolina.
The good thing is that I just scored exclusive rights to a farm that gets no pressure and the owner has been seeing 3 grown longbeards most days lately.

Updated state list. The outfitter in Alabama cancelled on us less than a week from opening day and we had reserved with him almost a year ago. So far he has only refunded 1/2 of our deposits back. Lost my shirt on my airfare and AL hunting license costs. Thanks buddy!
Got New Jersey locked in for next Spring though, very excited about that, pure running and gunning.

Using the Connecticut 3 day license, Monday May 1st - 3rd. Strictly archery gear too! We camp and hunt on my best friend's bosses's land-remote area near Winsted. Last year we only had 4 jakes come in, they were gobbling hard though. Got great videos of them. Opted to pass as we do this tradition every Spring. We are hopeful they all survived the year and are now nice 2 year olds that are stupid and aggressive!
Good luck and stay safe!
I need help finding a connection in Conn for next year if anybody has one, i've already got MA & RI booked without any luck finding anything in Conn....thought it'd be worth a shot to ask? Good luck to everybody!
