I'm hunting Pa for the last evening and last day on Saturday the 30th for one last attempt.  I cannot never put my gear away for the year when my home state closes, knowing a 2 hour drive to Pa allows me to stretch out the season another week or two.

I talked to wildspur and he's having a rough go.....not sure on everyone else.  Some of the guys only post when they have success.

Im still in the game. Heard gobbling today maybe 2-3 hundred yds away couldnt bring him in to the deke. Brought in 2 different red foxes though they charged my decoy till they saw it was fake. Got stuff too do tmorrow but I got 4 more days till Pa. season closes.

I'm done.  7 hunts in Idaho produced no birds to the gun. Early season they were gobbling up a Storm. Acted like Merriums should. Loud and standing their ground.  Thought as the season progressed I'd catch gobblers as the hens left them. Then they all vanished. Didn't hear a gobble the last three hunts.  South west Idaho doesn't have a lot of birds in the forest. Private and draw tags are where the birds are. 
Thought Ragan and I were going north to close it out.  Ended up being rained out and making an early trip back to California, her mom was admitted to the hospital w pneumonia.  She's out now and staying with us.
For those still out there chasing, good luck. Keep us posted.

Tag soup here sorry guys. He didn't gobble on roost. Saw a hen pitch down and he was gobbling. Got in a fight with the hen and hopeing she would bring him in tow but that never happened. Weird season for sure but that's hunting and it's not guaranteed because you buy a license.
