Well boy me and scoot gave them birds a workout, but came up dry. The first morning we had 7 birds gobbling nonstop on both ridge tops until 10:00. We finally got a bird to come to the calls, he was a bird that was beat up and would even go into full strut, he came around the corner at about 200 yards and gobbled all the way to the setup, then veered off at 40 yards and never gave Scott a shot, he was very nervous and didn't want to stand still. We had 2 hen decoys out and he only stopped long enough to give them a peek then started moving off back into the woods. He was on a mission to go someplace and wouldn't commit to anything other then were he was going. I could have took a shot, but wanted Scott to get one to give him a score. We waited a bit then moved around to get ahead of him and bumped him.
Day two, had the same 7 birds gobbling away again. We had moved our blind into a better position and had 2 hens and a jake decoy out. There was one bird that only gobbled once on the roost and I told Scott that, that was our best bird to try to work because he didn't have hens with him. We waited till he hit the ground and gave him a deep raspy yelp and a jake gobble and he lit up. He came off the ridge and down into the valley, crossed the creek and came right up behind our blind. Scott leaned forward to look out the window and there he was at 10 yards. He started to putt and took off back to the woods. I grabbed the call and got him stopped at 30 yards. Scott grabbed his 20ga. and managed to get turned around and a quick shot off BANG and he flew off up the valley. Scott was a little bummed, but a miss is a miss, and they happen to all of us sooner or later.
We had birds working in the afternoons, but they would not commit and headed back to their hens. All in all it was a good hunt with plenty of birds to keep us busy all day long, but we just couldn't seal the deal. Sometimes the turkeys win, and sometimes we get lucky enough to get one.

We did use the team calls and got birds in with them. I'll let scoot give his opinion of what he thought of them and how they sounded?

Sounds exciting, Scott!
I know how scoot feels. I'm working on season 2 of one like his.
