Cutting Down New Browning A5 Barrel

My wife bought me one of the new A5's a few years ago on the advice of my BIL (who duck hunts), assuming that I would love it.  It's a nice gun but I don't like a 28" barrel, much less turkey hunting.

I was going to send the barrel to Briley and let them cut the barrel down and re-tap for invector plus tubes (as original).  I was going to go to 22-24" but curious as to what the group would suggest.

I shoot 3" & 3.5" #9 Federal TSS in all my other guns with IC chokes and would like to shoot a similar setup in this gun.

If the gun patterns well, I will drill and tap it for a Trijicon RMR red dot as I have put on a few of my other guns with success.

What is the groups input?  The one time out of a decade I do go duck hunt, I have an 11-87 that I use, so this gun will simply sit in the safe unused unless I do something with it.

I say do it. Not doing any good sitting in the gun safe. I  recently had the same dilemma with my Model 12 and made the decision, shortened the barrel and installed choke tubes. Really happy I did. Do it and don't look back.

Do it, I built my gun to suit my needs and that's why I bought. It's a dedicated turkey gun and has been for 25 years. Doesn't even resemble the gun I bought.
