Tube call recommendations

I regularly use mouth calls, slates, sometimes a box call...but never a tube call. I don't know where to start on them. Any recommendations on one to try?

The cheapest plastic one u can find, to learn the right technique on how to blow them. Once you learned how to use correctly then you can buy more expensive wood calls. There is plastic tube calls on ebay for $9.99 I would start there.

Thanks. That makes sense. Any of the cheap ones sound pretty good? I can just google as well. Just didn't know if anyone would say, "Yeah the primos one sounds pretty good for a cheap tube call."

I would get ahold of Mclain,Scpossum,or Woodwzrd on this site.
I personally don't like the cheap plastic mass produced tubes.
Just like trumpet calls. I think guys should buy one from accomplished makers. If you can't get one to operate correctly then it's most likely you and not the call instead of the other way around.
I also like the lighter latex. It's easier to play the call,but the downside is it will wear out faster than the thicker latex.

 There are many good call makers on OG. I have bought and used calls from Scpossum, bbcustomboxcalls (pics on his website), Ctownsend (?), and LabsRUsII (website also). There are other good ones of course, these are just my experience. I recommend any one of them. Scpossum cut tubes for me to dimensions I prefer. A good tube call does not cost hundreds like boxes and trumpets. You can get a great tube call for $25 to $30 dollars. Try a beveled lip rest like you'll see on Scpossum threads. Easier calls to learn but once you get the hang of it you can rival a mouth diaphragm.

Thank you to all that responded. I wasn't even really thinking about a custom call but just a commercially available one. It's all food for thought and I thank those that responded.

The primos tube call is good. I used to hunt a lot with homemade bamboo calls with latex glove for a reed. One time I lost my call in the woods so I had to run down the road to dollar general and buy some gloves. Cut the top off a Vitamin Water bottle and made a reed from a glove and covered the other half of the bottle top with duct tape. Sounded great and I killed one that evening with it.

Lighter latex for sure! Cheap latex gloves sound awesome, but they do rot really easy. Good thing is they're cheap and you can cut a new reed any time you need one.
