Started out this morning surrounded by gobbling turkeys. Once they flew down; silence!! They were henned up. Ended up calling in a hard gobbling super jake. He sounded just like a mature Tom. Left that spot and hunted a couple other places without any action. Before heading out I decided to hunt another small tract of land. As soon as I walked into the woods I could see fresh scratching all over, so I knew they were close. I crow called and immediately there was a faint gobble. I cut some distance and pinpointed him. The woods were fairly open so I had to set up a little further than normal. I began calling and he was gobbling at every call. I gave just a few more soft calls, with some leaf scratching and he came in on a string gobbling and strutting. The total time for the hunt was 30 min. It was an amazing hunt!!
He is technically an upgrade by a small amount. Less than a point. So I will not add him as an upgrade.
