Thanks guys, what a special day! My 8 year old has had plenty of success deer hunting but we struck out on turkeys last year, so my season was dedicated to getting him his first bird. Typically, I wouldn't take a young kid hunting in the steep, brutal MS terrain but he said he could do it. This bird looked like he was going to come into our setup textbook, but as soon as he got to about 60 yards he ran parallel to us and ended up directly behind us. Keep in mind, I've got a stake up blind in front (which is now useless), caldwell field pod, me and a kid in wide open hardwoods. Luckily he was able to flip around when the turkey went behind a tree. I called lightly and he went into strut and slowly crept our way. It probably took 10 mins for him to get from 90 yards to 40. Once he got to 40, I asked if he was on him, he said yep, so I yelped and told him to get him. He rolled him with my youth 870 and TSS 9s... I'm ready for #2 now
