Few years back, I got to place I wanted to hunt one morning...in the dark. Well, when I got light enough to see I heard some yelps kinda behind me, and finally after some time and many yelps I slowly turned to take a peep...and there about 20 yards away was a blind. Well, I just set there and those yelps kept coming...about 9:00 bird was slowly working his way to my left...got the gun up and dropped him at about 40 yds. Got my stuff together and was walking over to get my dead bird and ups walks this guy with a bow in hand. He never knew I was around, wanted to know where I came from, told him was behind that tree in front of a blind behind me. He told me nice shot. Never saw him again but did pick up a nice leafy face mask on a path on the way out.....some days it pays to have someone that knows how to call.

Not to hijack but a few years back O had a 13 year old kid to take on the youth hunt.
Went to the wolf WMA here in W Tn. Had scouted several mornings earlier that week and felt I had one pegged for Saturday AM.

Got in real early and got the blind set up and the kiddo comfortable

At about day light we had 2 father/son duos be-bopping in. Strobed my flashlight in that direct as to say HEY! We're here.

They came in anyways and set up about 150-200 yards away.

But before setting up they walked with flashlight down to the woods where the river is and where the birds typically roost. As dad was looking around the kids is shining HIS light up into every tree and in every direction.

Needless to say ours and theirs hunt was over.  Tried to say till after they left around 8:30-9:00 but the kid got restless so we pack and headed out as well.

If on public land and windows are open I'd assume it's occupied. On private ground I know who is where.
