So I'm continuing to play with this haint call, blew it all the way to work and back today. Nearly hood bounced two pedestrians driving with my knees but hey, priorities right? Going to figure out this gobble call if it kills me (or someone else). Haven't met a turkey call yet I couldn't run, and I'll be danged if this one will be my match. So check out the new recording. This one is outside, walking around my yard. What do you think?

Sounds like your getting closer,I have never seen or heard of this call before.
The only suggestion I have is to see if you can slow down the cadence some,it just seems too fast if that makes sense.
I'm sure you'll get it before season starts, sounds like your on the right track.

Better than the last recording.  I don't think the dog really appreciates though.  I'll stick to my box call when I need a gobble.

I'm still hunting on the hill for now ;D
Haha tough crowd in here. My plan is to get good enough with this thing to sound like the new gobbler in town wearing a leather jacket and smoking a Marlboro. Going to gobble up all the local hens at flydown time, then leap out from behind my four foot wide reaping fan decoy and scatter them every which way. After this, I'll casually stroll down in the woods to those now alone gobblers and be the only game in town. Kind of like the guys still alone at last call in the bar. Should limit out in an hour. The Facebook update will be epic.

I give you credit.  Your sticking with it and improving.   You will probably hit on it at some point, then I'll come off the hill.

This has become my new goal. When you come down off the hill, I will have reached mastery.

I've got a wooden Haint call. Sometimes I sound good, sometimes I sound like someone is choking a goose. ;D The one thing I have figured out is when I sound bad, I'm blowing too hard. With that said, it's difficult to not get excited and blow too hard when you're in earshot of a gobbler that's hammering. :gobble:
Like you, I'm still practicing.

After doing some recordings, I believe this call is going to be similar to a trumpet. By that I mean that it's going to sound a heck of a lot better at a distance than right up close. Going to do some recordings from about a hundred yards to really confirm that theory.

I've had the same thoughts as well. Looking forward to your recordings. :icon_thumright:

Some calls sound better the farther away they are.

It's improved on the last recording.

what I'm hearing is the last half second of the gobble sounds passable and this would be only the gobbles that peak the highest on the graph

this would tie in with what Rutnstrut said above, by the very last part of each gobble your running out of air and thats when each of your gobbles sounds it's best

the front part of each gobble with your rolling or vibrating the tongue method is too fast and not good, if your stocking to that method try to slow it down

the best gobbles I have heard people do on that call has all been the tukka tukka method
