Breaks down into 6-5 day seasons.
You draw for 1 tag. There are extras to purchase OTC after that in many areas. Usually the later periods.
Personally I love the set up. Keeps the hunting pressure down, allows birds a break. Hard to argue when WI has been putting up the numbers in both count and success rates. And with OTC you can buy as many tags as are available 1 per day. So S.W. part of the State you could really rack them up and easily hunt 3-4 time periods.
So I was drawn for 6th and bought an extra. I take off so I dedicate my life to the hunt for that week. Or weeks if its a year I get to break up the time periods.
Now there is talk of running the hunt straight up. But with limited public land and high hunter concentration it would be very scary
