Naw, it never does. It was a beautiful call and I've never heard a bad one from Marlin. He may make some that has a less desired sound to someone, but they will all call birds.

You really have to hold a fiddle box in your hand to appreciate the craftsmanship and playability, they remind me of a solid piece of antique furniture, Marlin and TJ both build a fine one.
