Well guys I got a bird BUT after taking the pictures and gettin 3 different weights I wont be posting in the score thread. I took it to the first check station and the women give the scale and syringe tube to measure and weigh it. I then took it to the taxidermist who is a IDNR chk stn. His weight was different. I had also weighed it on a brand new Berkley scale. After all said and done with really bad picture from a really good camera. I ended up with nothin with enuff detail to post the score. Im really sorry guys, I was pumped up about the contest but I couldnt get the detailed pic's. I got this bird right in my back yard 50yrds from my back door. somewhere around 24lbs, 10in beard and a 28mm & 31mm spur. Once again Im sorry for letting down the team!

First of all congrats on a great bird. :z-guntootsmiley:  Don't beat yourself up about the pics.  Yes it is a great bird and probably would have improved our score but crap happens.  Its really tough to get a good pic using one hand on the camera and one measuring, almost impossible.  Anyway congrats again.

Sound like a big turkey. email me to pictures and I will see if I put them in my image program and make them come out better. If are taking pictures of the weight inide you may have to turn the flash off to keep the glare down. I take me weight pictures in the field with the berkley scale. It comes out a lot better. Plus I enlarge the picture of the scale too. It is really hard to take the pictures by yourself. I use a 10 sec delay and my camera is mounted on a tripod. It is only a branging rights contest only. Maybe you can get yoy another and upgrade it with some good pictures. Congrat's on a fine longbeard.

Hey just a question from a curious Cdn. What is it with you fellas using millimetres on spur measurments? I thought that was just our system up here. The scoring system for the contest also needs 1/16 of inches correct? Just wondering 'cause I was going to add your score in my tally post crappiepro but I have no idea what those mm translate for a score without looking up a conversion. I also think even if you have crap pics you should still post them and score it. This is what i was referring to before the contest about being so particluar with darn pictures. If anyone disputes that your legitamate then take it away fine, but it's a fun internet contest. You shot a great bird and should get credit. Jusy my $.02
