This Tom, one other Tom, 3 jakes, and a couple hens slipped into the field about 300 yards from where I was sitting in the wood line. Couldn't get them to come in, so I tried two different moves on them in hopes that a reposition would nudge them to come in but no luck. I moved back to my original Position where I had the best view of them, and they were now at 500 yards (I verified on google earth when I got home). But now it looked like only one hen, and the boss Tom wasn't letting anyone else near. I hammered the call as loud as I could and the other Tom and jakes respond. Pulled my binos up and could see they were facing me, heads perked up, interested.. I hit it again, got a response, looked through binos and they started trotting in my direction, I couldnt believe it. They closed the distance in not even 5 mins. 1:30 pm.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
