Well boys, the ol' 835 has been dialed in, the turkeys have been located, and tommorow morning starts my 2011 turkey campaign!
I'll do my best to bring in a nice bird. Ol' Chatterbox is looking for revenge!

:TooFunny:  I originally thought you meant weapons free as in without a weapon. Thought you might have come up with a new idea of "Turkey Noodling" or something using your bare hands. Good luck!!

Well boys, got them going pretty good off the roost, and they all pitched down into the field above me. Saw a bird coming through the opening, and saw it was a jake.
I then looked up and saw a bird on the stone wall looking at my setup. Turns out it was a jake, and he wanders over to my setup. Then the bird I saw go through the opening comes bumping over with 2 more jakes and a couple of hens. This all happens about 20 yards in front of me.
Finally they all get bored and wander off. I finally see the big tom about 200 yards off in the field above me a couple hours later. He was with a couple of hens, and there was no pulling him away.
All in all, a pretty fun morning. I wished it had ended with a harvest, but I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on a jake.

Reads like a great hunt and morning though!!

Hopefully next time the Tom will come in first!!!

God Bless,

Glad you were able to stay off the trigger that jake wouldn't have helped a whole lot! good luck on the next trip!

Got onto a jake this morning, and my buddy who has never killed a turkey decided to roll the jake at 30 yards!
He ended up with a 15 lb jake that had a 5" beard.
It was rainy and foggy all day. The birds really didn't want to play much. I'll be back out after them hard in the morning!
