This is my swamp bird I took on March 21st. My 1st ever attempt at a fan mount. Took about 4-5 weeks to complete.

I have my fans cleaned and tacked out with borax on them.
How long until they will be stiff?
I have done it before but never had anybody waiting to get it.

I use a 50/50 mixture of borax and meat curing salt. I don't have any taxidermist chemicals. I remove as much meat and fat as possible. A wire brush works very good in cleaning. They will dry in about 2 weeks this way, i let them dry for 4 weeks just to make sure. I have 2 fans pinned up now that have been drying for 2 weeks and they are stiff.
