I was contacted by a local organization about doing a hunt as a fundraiser for them and asked if I would volunteer to help, I did.

Out for the first hunt of the year at the WI DNR Learn to Hunt Turkey Program and had an unique opportunity to mentor a hunt as part of a fundraiser for the Wisconsin Badger Camp. These guys left with smiles on their faces today! Good stories were made and a couple of NEW turkey hunters too!

Fantastic, always is rewarding to help out others.

Congrats! If it wasn't for people willing to do youth hunts I would have never had a chance to turkey hunt and learn how awesome it is! Today is actually the 8th anniversary of me bagging a nice gobbler with my mentor...almost to the minute. Finally getting the chance to go back out there this year, can't believe I have waited that long to find the time again.

I saw the official youth season is this weekend...that is going to be an absolute disaster in my neck of the woods with a foot or more of snow on the way. I guess it could be worse and the snow actually coming this weekend...but not good weather to hit before a turkey season. Sketchy April weather is the exact reason I voluntarily went for B season in my neck of the woods instead of A season. Should be interesting to see how successful people are in that first week and how much the snow throws off the turkeys.
