Stretch help
« on: April 07, 2019, 12:38:48 PM »
I've been making calls a lot. I have found .150 on a Feather Ridge hand jig to be a good stretch but I'm still not happy with sound. Any tighter and it's too high, but at .150 I feel it blows too easy and I over blow. I am using .004 latex reeds. Will going to a .005 help?

I stretch 3 reeds on a feather ridge jig to .185 if I'm using .004 over two. 003. A little lighter stretcy if proph are the bottom reeds.

I stretch mine anywhere from .170 to .265 depending on thickness of latex and cut. .004 red or yellow over 2 .0025 natural stretched to .210 with just enough back tension to take out the wrinkles. These run awesome as a combo cut.
