Another down in South AL

Things finally picked up at my lease where the 50+ birds we had seemingly disappeared at the end of February which annually isn't the case. They always hold. Went out yesterday morning to give my public spots a break and just to see if any sign was back in there and this ol' boy hammered and proceeded to whoop me sideways. Left him at 3 PM still gobbling and told him I'd be back in the morning. The rest is history. Got him fired up at 11, got in his bubble, and 10 minutes later he let out his final gobble 13 yards from my face. It's been slow in south AL this year but the past few days seem to be leaning towards some good hunting in the final stretch of our season.

3rd heaviest bird I've ever held down here. My uncle and father doubled about 4 years ago at my uncles hunting club and oddly enough both birds were 21.7. Matter of fact I've only killed 2 others that touched 20 pounds. Don't see very many go over about 18 pounds down this way!

Spurs Up

:happy0064:  Love them pink and ebony spurs. I think that's a Southeast thing.
