Pot Call Finish

Hey guys/gals,

I've been finishing my pots with Tru Oil for years with great results but always like experimenting with new finish. I'm looking for something a little faster while maintaining durability. Does anyone have tips on spray finish. I've been contemplaing getting a HVLP sprayer to spray on spar. Anyone have experience with this? Any tips are greatly appreciated.

I use polyacrylic by minwax.  Spray it on straight with an automotive touch up gun.  Clean up with hot water.
