I have an Old Quaker boy box call that the screw holding the lid on will back it's self out as your running it. What would be the best way to fix this? The screw hole is a little wallowed out from many years of use.

Thank you for any help, Gerri

Put a little wood glue on the threads, let it air dry and then screw it in to where you want it.

Marlin told me if that ever happens to put some cedar shavings in the screw hole and  put the screw back in. The shavings will tighten it back up.

You can even use a small wood shim.

I also use the glue on the screw method, especially on cedar and butternut calls that take several lid changes to find the right one. I'll apply glue to the threads and find the sweet spot, let set 24 hours.

Wood shavings in the hole. Want to be able to take screw out if need be.
