Been hunting this bird since I missed him last week and never could make him commit after my screw-up....Buddy of mine said after I missed him he was un-killable and to move onto another bird......I couldn't just do that.He resided in a field and just wouldnt break that magical threshold once he seen the decoys so I went this AM with a different plan, first find out exactly where he was roosted and head away from the field once he flew down and drag him into the woods with me.....well finding him was easy but when he flew down there was no chance in moving due to him being on top of me,I watched him ease passed me alone strutting and gobbling until he got around the bend of the field away from my view then booked it in to a pond off the field edge and setup.......hit the call and he cuts it off,wait........hit it again and he hammers back but sounds farther like he knows where he wants to go.....so I got down on the cal pretty good to fire him up and sit them down.........15 minutes go by and I haven't heard a peep out of him and at 40 yards he blows my hat off......not even a minute later here he comes down through the pond and at 35 yards I ended it all.Great Morning.
