Playing surface pressure

Hey guys, I've been messing around with some pot call kits. Most sound real good but I have a question about the playing surface. How much pressure do you put on it when gluing it down? I just kinda press it down a little then put some weight like a can of soup till it dries. I've seen some guys use clamps. What works best for yall? Thanks

Thanks for the info. You're one of the 3 or 4 that I was hoping would respond.

Working on a kit myself, good info to have.
