Thinking About Going Vestless

I've been thinking about doing away with the turkey vest this year. I'll be hunting some new land that requires miles of walking. Other than the cushion I don't use 90% of the crap I carry. I've been looking at a Banded nano backpack. Anyone else gone vestless?

Yep. Went to a waist pack. Carry an owl hoot, crow call, one pot call, 3 or 4 mouth calls,
an inflatable decoy, and a few shells. So much less crap to deal with and it's a lot cooler on those warm days.

Yep, no vest for me.  Haven't missed it a bit.  Should have ditched it years ago.
If I'm not back in five minutes, wait longer!

Did a long time ago and never looked back.

I use a Stearns flotation seat cushion as a seat in hot weather and use a waistpack of satchel.

The downside is a tree is rough on your back after a while.  A shirt with a cushion in it would help or packing a pad.

Cut back awhile ago, now I carry it in my Badlands hip pack! Wouldn't even want a vest... I figured out what kills turkeys for me and it's all I carry.

Here's what is in the pack.

Yep.  I don't miss it a bit.  Butt pack with shoulder straps for me.  Works great.

I went with the Glenda Green Turkey satchel.   Has worked well for me.

I modified a turkey waist pack by adding a cushion to it. Similar to the Cabelas half vest speed seat. Light, carrys everything one needs, and no cumbersome vest to deal with.

As the years pass vest less and less. Waist pack and lighter and lighter every year.

Went vestless years ago and ain't looked back.   I have a small belt/waist pack that'll hold all I use at home.  If I'm on the road, in bigger country, I'll take my backpack.

The good Lord ain't made a gobbler I can't kill.  I just gotta be there at the right time.....  on the day he wants to die.

I used to only use a waist pack for years and went to a vest when I started taking kids with me alot. I started carrying shells for a 20 and a 12 plus masks and gloves for 2 and extra cushions for the guest. If I was only hunting by myself all the time, I would probably ditch the vest again.

I have "cut back", but I still use a vest.  I am not the most organized person in the world, so having one spot for everything is more of a necessity.  Also, I'm going to attempt self filming this year, so I need the open room that used to hold pots and box for batteries.
This year is going to suck!!!

If I know I'm running and gunning a few hours all I carry is my gun and a mouth call!
