Pattern Master basics?
« on: January 31, 2019, 04:07:03 PM »
Can someone explain the difference in how PM works vs typical turkey chokes?

I have a couple for my SP-10 that never patterned turkey loads but now I read they are best for Steel shot? Then I heard you can't use Federal flight control wads? I'm confused.

Standard patternmaster chokes (waterfowl steel) have a very slight constriction....but have "studs"on the inside portion of the choke that grab or retard the wad .....I e never used one but goose/duck  hunters love them

They dont have any viable usage with Turkey loads, I would not recommend them in that manner nor would anyone know if they would be safe or perform well

Pattern master has several other types of chokes that are completely different,  and some are constructed for Turkey loads ...how they perform,  I dont know as of yet
