I am going to try shooting some TSS #9 this season in a 20 ga 870. I had great results with the gun last season using Win. LongbeadXR #6 and the Carlson LongbeadXR .568 choke tube.
Do any of you who use the 20 ga 870, ever shoot TSS our of a .568 choke. I know Carlson's make a .555 TSS choke, but is the .013" difference in constriction going to make a noticeable difference over my current choke.
I seems like just switching to TSS is going to be a huge improvement over the LongbeardXR I shot last season. The Longbeard was a big jump from the lead 5's I had used for years before that.
Normally I like to call them in close or I don't shoot, but this year I have trips planned to hunt 3 of the four species in the grand slam, so I would hate to be on a hunt where I needed an extra 10 yds range and not have it. I figure it's cheaper to get a better choke/shell combo than the expense of a hunt away from home.
Thanks in advance
