Sooo we got between 16-20 inches of snow this past weekend and was wondering what turkeys do? Do they stay roosted for several days until snow melts? If they landed with that much snow on the ground, they would literally be up to their nexts in snow.

They can stay roosted for several days of they have to. But when we have deep snows they just tend to gravitate towards pine trees and down in hollows out of the deep stuff. It has to be pretty bad to keep them in a tree for an extended period of time. That's been my observations anyways.

We rarely get deep snow but when we do they go into cedar thickets or pine stands.

I wouldnt worry much. They've made it this long..

notsure

I'd imagine a layer of ice would present a greater threat to a turkey's ability to find browse.
