Quote from: Sixes on February 21, 2019, 07:11:53 PMI don't have a dog in this fight, because I am not on either list, but I am on John Dangerfield's list and was told it would be a couple of years. I know he was at Unicoi selling calls, but it doesn't matter to me. The way I see it, he spent the money for a room, table and travel expenses and selling calls helps him to recover those costs. Why would a callmaker buy a table and go to a show and NOT sell calls just because he has a "list"?I was at Lonnie Mabry's house a couple days ago and we were talking about this very thing and he stated that having a list was the exact reason that he would not ship calls. If he had a list, then he wouldn't ever be caught up. We agreed that he could go to Unicoi or other shows and sell his whole inventory in no time, but then he wouldn't have any calls to sell to everyone that stops by his house to visit, like me.

Fulkerson snakewood over black lined persimmon, also picked up a Fulkerson one side ironwood over teak. A SWEET Hudson snakewood over walnut with Dimond inlay. A Watkins fiddle mineral poplar and walnut. Couple of Lamar Williams. Short black walnut over yellow poplar and a cedar over poplar paddle. A Steve Mann paddle butternut and Cedar. A John Dangerfield Amboyna burl trumpet with musk ox mouthpiece. Four Buice horns. A pair of verte, a Gabon ebony and another Osage. And a few custom leather cases etc. Another great show.

Quote from: MikeStaten on January 10, 2020, 05:26:00 PMThere was some little kid there that was great at playing box calls, he was just walking around the show playing various makers' boxes and the reaction at every table was the same - everyone stopped what they were doing and had a look of disbelief first and then all smiles. No idea who he was but I'd guess he was less than 12 years old.
